Weald & Downland Joint Event

Spending a couple of days in the Sussex Countryside is no hardship.  We had an interesting time.  Originally we had hoped to take the omnibus and just Obie and Rupe but there was no one at home to look after Sultan and Jack, so in the end they came too.  A new experience for Jo driving all four horses in the lorry, they make a great deal of difference to the handling, but she took it all in her stride.  Jack and Sultan though didnt.  We had our competition harness stolen earlier in the year and it takes time to get things back into place.  Jack and Sultan really weren't happy in the new harness and wouldnt go at all.  Steve had to cut short the obstacles and we rushed to get Obie and Rupe into harness.  In the end it was worth the effort, they came 3rd on the cones!  Their best result so far.

The pictures on the right are a compilation of the horses, Rowena's fire engine and Rupe and Obie doing the obstacles.  Check out the other blog for a video of the fire engine doing it's stuff.

There is a lovely slide show of the event Here
