A lovely french village. John and Claire with Daphne, our first aventurier stage. Someone seems to think I have a little french and I am called upon to ask the judges for the maps and get asked to make a speech in french. I will have to ask Monique to prime me next time. Lol.
Richard and Trish with their lovely black percherons, Diamond and Chantry came in early Richard fuming. The 500m marker was only 200m from the finish line.
As we drew our of the town Richard was just walking it with the gprs to get an accurate reading.
Three hours before the next stage. The next challenge is getting there.
It was sad to see one of the Ardennes nearly out on its feet. When we went to refill the water bottles it was having intravenous fluids. Sarah says if a horse is that bad it will need 6 or 8 five litre pouches to make a difference.
A quick trip to Abbeville and the quick change with Daniel coming in and John on the way out. Chris carpenter stopped by to say hi and we roped him in too. Dans horses were brilliant and we heard that Laura had won second in the dressage. She must have been so thrilled. It is strange how the small things stay with you. Having a cup of tea in china cups at Abbeville provided by Claire was wonderful.
