As dawn breaks over the french countryside we have already been up for a couple of hours gathering ourselves together and breaking camp. A cloudless but not too cold night, the biggest disturbance from the arriving dog owners taking our place at Le Touqet.
We breakfasted royally on sausage sandwiches. The sausages provided by Molly, the Sampson's pig and real french bread warm from the oven still. Copious amounts of tea and we are ready for the off.
Our first job for the day is to see the competition vehicle into boulogne. No time to stop though, just time to wish Daniel & Dave good luck and unload the vehicle onto the quay where we had been only the day before. Sam was putting the finishing touches to the horses hooves as we drove off to begin our own marathon.
